Planning for peak season? Review the operation before changes stack up.

02 / Implement

One high-priority outcome. Fixed scope. Safe implementation.

A Focused Commerce Sprint resolves one defined operational outcome without turning the work into an unlimited overhaul. Scope, dependencies, approvals, testing, release, and acceptance are visible before production changes begin.

Example outcomes

Catalog and merchandising cleanup

03

04

Measurement and event-validation repair

05

Product-drop or campaign launch readiness

06

Shipping and returns workflow improvement

07

App-stack cleanup and automation

08

Redirect and storefront-content remediation

Sprint anatomy

A controlled release path from current state to verified result.

  1. 01Confirm current and target state
  2. 02Define systems and dependencies
  3. 03Back up and prepare safe work area
  4. 04Build or configure
  5. 05Review and obtain approval
  6. 06Test affected journeys
  7. 07Publish through controlled release
  8. 08Verify, document, and hand off

Definition of done

Acceptance criteria before production, not after.

A sprint completes when the agreed result passes its named tests, documentation identifies owners and limitations, and the release is verified—not when a task is simply marked done.

A strong acceptance plan names:

  • The customer or operator journey being tested
  • Named systems and environments
  • Required client decisions and approvals
  • Regression checks and known limitations
  • Rollback and post-release monitoring

Included

What the engagement leaves behind.

  • 01Current and target state
  • 02Controlled implementation
  • 03QA and verification evidence
  • 04Change log
  • 05Documentation and handoff

Boundaries

What is not quietly folded into scope.

  • Undefined overhaul
  • Large redesign or replatforming
  • Unnamed systems
  • 24/7 support

Sprint questions

Controlled scope protects the outcome.

Is implementation included in the audit?

No. The audit includes investigation, evidence, priorities, and recommendations. Implementation is separately scoped so the cost, dependencies, and definition of done are clear.

Can you guarantee higher sales or conversion?

No. Revenue and conversion depend on traffic, product-market fit, pricing, merchandising, creative, market conditions, client decisions, and other factors. Proper Commerce commits to the stated diagnostic, implementation, testing, and operating deliverables—not a guaranteed financial result.

Do you replace our developer, agency, or marketing team?

Usually not. Proper Commerce can coordinate with existing specialists, clarify ownership, and identify where a developer, analyst, email specialist, or another expert is needed. The goal is to make the work function as one operation.

What access do you need?

Access depends on scope. After an agreement is signed, the minimum permissions required are requested through Shopify Partner collaborator access and named user accounts where possible. Shared owner passwords are not requested.

What happens after the sprint?

You receive documentation and can operate the result internally. If there is a continuing need for governance, launches, monitoring, and prioritized improvement, Fractional Shopify Operations may be proposed.
